COVID-19 cases confirmed at three London schools

A trio of positive COVID-19 cases have been identified within the London District Catholic School Board.

The Middlesex-London Health Unit has confirmed a case at Saint Andre Bessette Catholic Secondary School in London as well as at Mother Teresa Catholic Secondary School and St. Kateri Catholic Elementary School.

According to press releases sent by the board, parents, guardians and staff in all three school communities have been notified of the cases. The schools will remain open and school buses will continue to operate.

"The Middlesex-London Health Unit is currently investigating the case and is in the process of identifying the individual’s close contacts," read the release. "The Middlesex-London Health Unit will provide advice and support to close contacts in navigating this situation."

Health unit investigators will only be contacting students and staff who have been identified as being a close contact. Close contacts are being advised to stay home and quarantine.

If someone is not contacted by the Middlesex-London Health Unit, they are not considered to be at risk.
