Halloween forecast not scary at all

There might not be as many trick-or-treaters this year on your street, but for those who do venture out Saturday night, the weather is going to be lovely.

That is how Environment Canada meteorologist Peter Kimball describes it. Unlike in past years, Halloween night will be quite temperate.

"The temperatures will be above zero. Maybe about 5C, maybe as high as 8C," he said. "Wind out of the south, no precipitation, and even clear skies."

Kimball says Southwestern Ontario seems to have hit the jackpot this year.

"Sometimes you can get cold, and even snow, windy conditions," he explained. "That said, by Sunday we probably will get some flurry activity."

The projected temperature Saturday night will be a few degrees above normal for the end of October. In Windsor-Essex, the average is around 4C, and just below 3C in London.

Kimball figures the temperature will be around 6C in Windsor when the kids hit the streets and 5C in London.

"Really not bad at all when you consider the possibilities," he said.
