Iconic actor Sean Connery dies at 90

The man who played the first James Bond in the 1960s, rocketing to fame, has died in his sleep in the Bahamas at the age of 90.

Multiple media outlets report Sean Connery passed away after an illness. The BBC said his family confirmed the news.

Connery delighted audiences for over 40 years and was perhaps best known for his role as 007 starting with the film Dr. No in 1962. He went on to star in five other James Bond films.

Connery was not typecasted after playing the spy. He went on to star in other films including "The Untouchables", "The Rock", "The Hunt for Red October", and "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade", along side Harrison Ford.

He won many Golden Globe Awards and honours from BAFTA, and in 2000 was knighted by Queen Elizabeth. He won one Academy Award for this role in "The Untouchables."

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
