High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

Two patients with COVID-19 are now being treated at Bluewater Health.
Communications Chief Julia Oosterman said Monday that a 72-year-old male was admitted from his home a few days ago, and the virus was confirmed in test results Sunday night.
<a href="https://blackburnnews.com/sarnia/sarnia-news/2020/10/30/covid-outbreak-declared-petrolia-nursing-home/">A resident at Fiddicks Retirement Home in Petrolia tested positive for the virus late last week</a> and was transferred to Bluewater Health.
<a href="https://lambtonpublichealth.ca/2019-novel-coronavirus/">Lambton Public Health reports three active cases</a> in the community and the one outbreak at Fiddicks.
The local health agency said 344 of the 372 confirmed cases locally are considered resolved. <a href="https://blackburnnews.com/sarnia/sarnia-news/2020/06/06/covid-claims-25th-life-sarnia-lambton/">The death toll is unchanged at 25.</a>
