High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

Lambton Public Health is reporting one more confirmed case and one more recovered case of COVID-19 <a href="https://blackburnnews.com/sarnia/sarnia-news/2020/11/09/lambton-moh-urges-covid-vigilance-ontario-numbers-spike/">over the past 24 hours</a>.
<a href="https://lambtonpublichealth.ca/2019-novel-coronavirus/">In its daily update</a> Tuesday morning, the health unit reported 381 confirmed cases, 347 resolved cases and 25 deaths, leaving nine active cases.
The outbreak at Fiddick’s Retirement Home in Petrolia remains in effect <a href="https://blackburnnews.com/sarnia/sarnia-news/2020/10/30/covid-outbreak-declared-petrolia-nursing-home/">after one resident tested positive late last month</a>.
<a href="https://blackburnnews.com/sarnia/sarnia-news/2020/11/09/covid-case-port-lambton-elementary-school/">One case has been linked to Riverview Central School in Port Lambton</a>. The Lambton Kent District School Board said the elementary school remains open.
<a href="https://www.bluewaterhealth.ca/covid-19-novel-coronavirus-information-frequently-asked-questions">Bluewater Health</a> is now reporting two positive patients in hospital, down from three Monday.
