23 new COVID-19 cases reported in Windsor-Essex

Health officials in Windsor-Essex reported nearly two dozen new COVID-19 cases on Saturday.

The local health unit reported 23 new cases, bringing the regional case count to 3,067.

Thirteen of the latest cases are agri-farm workers, two are community-acquired, two are from close contact, one is a local healthcare worker and five cases are still under investigation.

A total of 175 of the total cases are listed as being active.

There are currently four long-term care homes in Windsor-Essex that are in COVID-19 outbreak and one workplace outbreak- an agricultural workplace in Leamington.

Elsewhere, the province recorded a record number of daily new COVID-19 cases. Ontario health officials reported 1,581 additional cases on Saturday, bringing the case count to  92,761.
