Lower new COVID-19 case counts in Midwestern Ontario Tuesday

On Tuesday,  Huron Perth Public Health reported no new cases of COVID-19 over the past 24 hours. There are currently 64 active cases, down from 72 Monday. A COVID-19 outbreak at Cedarcroft Retirement Home in Stratford continues, and one recent case at Knollcrest Long term Care in Perth East has that facility under outbreak protocol

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health reported three new cases in Wellington County today, where there are 51 active cases.   Many of the cases are related to an Old Order Mennonite community in the northern part of the county, after COVID-19 outbreaks were linked to a school and a wedding of over 100 people.

The Grey Bruce Public Health Unit reported three new cases Tuesday, one in Grey Highlands, and two in Southgate. There are 27 active cases, but no outbreaks, or hospitalizations in Grey Bruce.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
