11 additional COVID-19 cases in London-area

Eleven new COVID-19 cases are being reported in London-Middlesex.

Local health authorities reported the cases on Saturday afternoon, bringing the case count in the region to 1,451.

Meanwhile, there were 17 new recoveries reported on Saturday, bringing the total number of resolved cases to 1,258. So far, 63 people have passed away from the virus in the region.

School and child care settings in the London-area have seen a total of 41 cases. As of Saturday, six schools have active cases and the only outbreak at a school setting is at the Western University Saugeen–Maitland Hall.

Southwestern Public Health, the health unit covering St. Thomas, Woodstock and Elgin and Oxford counties, reported six new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours. Since the start of the pandemic, the region has recorded a total of 483 cases.

Across the province, it was another record-setting day for the daily case count. Provincial health officials reported 1,588 new cases, 522 of which come from Peel and 450 in Toronto.
