COVID-19 case identified at high school in London

Another case of COVID-19 has been confirmed at a Catholic high school in London.

The London District Catholic School Board announced on Saturday that a positive case had been identified at Catholic Central High School.

“Parents/guardians and staff in the Catholic Central High School community have been notified of the case,” the board said in a statement on its website. “Catholic Central High School will remain open and school buses will continue to operate.”

The Middlesex-London Health Unit is in the process of identifying close contacts of the latest case. The health unit will only be contacting students and staff who are identified as close contacts. Anyone who is not contacted is not considered to be at risk. Those who are considered close contacts are being told to stay home and quarantine.

“Staff at Catholic Central High School will work with students and families to ensure learning continues for those who are self-isolating at home,” the school board said.

A case was previously detected at the high school on November 10.
