Suspected meth found in man's sock during arrest

A 46-year-old man is facing a couple of charges after he was allegedly caught behind the wheel with a loaded syringe in his sock.

Police pulled over a vehicle on Emma Street in Chatham on Thursday morning because the plates on the vehicle were reported stolen.

During a search, police said a loaded syringe with suspected methamphetamine was found in the driver's sock.

The 46-year-old was charged with possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance. He has a future court date scheduled for December 16.

Chatham woman arrested

A Chatham woman has been arrested on an outstanding warrant for thefts and possession under $5,000.

A 41-year-old was later released from police custody with a future court date scheduled for December 16.
