COVID-19 case identified at an Aylmer school

The Thames Valley District School Board (TVDSB) has identified a positive case of COVID-19 at East Elgin Secondary School in Aylmer on Sunday.

The school board says it has notified staff, along with parents and guardians of all East Elgin students. The school will remain open, and buses will continue to operate as per usual.

Southwestern Public Health is investigating the case to identify any close contacts of the infected individual and will follow up directly with those for testing, and quarantine advice. Those not contacted by the health unit are not considered to be at risk.

Over the weekend, the TVDSB reported one other case of COVID-19 at an elementary school in Woodstock, and the London District Catholic School Board (LDCSB) reported two cases, One on Saturday, and another on Sunday.
