New COVID-19 cases confirmed in Midwestern Ontario Wednesday

The Grey Bruce Health Unit added six new cases of of COVID-19 Wednesday, scattered across the region in Southgate, Meaford, Grey Highlands, Owen Sound and Arran Elderslie.   There are 35 active and eight probable cases. There is an outbreak after due to a positive staff member Golden Dawn Senior Citizen Home in Owen Sound.

The Huron Perth Public Health unit reported just one new case of COVID-19 confirmed Wednesday, located in Perth East. One other case was referred to another health unit. There are 43 active cases. Outbreak protocols remain in place at Northside Christian school near Listowel, Cedarcroft and Spruce Lodge seniors homes in Stratford, and Knollcrest Lodge in Perth East.

In Wellington County, public health added three new active cases, for a total of 31, and one hospitalization. 23 of those active cases are in the northern part of the county. There is an outbreak at Minto Clifford Public School and at Caressant Long Term Care in Arthur.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
