New COVID case at St. Patrick's High School

The St. Clair Catholic District School Board is reporting a new COVID-19 case at St. Patrick's High School.

The board, on its website advisory page Wednesday, said the case involves a student but the school remains open.

In November, three student cases were confirmed at St. Pat's but no outbreak was declared by Lambton Public Health because there was no evidence of transmission within the school setting. There are still two student cases linked to Northern high school as well.

The number of confirmed cases in Sarnia-Lambton was unchanged Wednesday after a spike of seven was reported on Tuesday.

Of the 434 confirmed cases since March 25, 384 are considered resolved, leaving 25 active cases.

The health unit continues to monitor a workplace outbreak involving two positive cases at Shell Canada's Corunna plant.

Bluewater Health has no COVID-positive patients in hospital.

The Sarnia-Lambton community remains in the yellow “protect” level in the province’s COVID-19 response framework.
