Break and enter at Chatham business

Police are investigating after a break-in at Mike's Place in Chatham.

According to police, around 2 a.m. Sunday, unknown suspects threw a piece of porcelain through a window and gained entry to the inside.

A tablet was stolen from the business.

The investigation remains ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers anonymously.

Shoplifting arrest 

A woman will have to answer to charges after getting arrested for shoplifting from a Chatham store.

Around 11 a.m. Saturday, the 36-year-old was arrested after allegedly stealing a pair of pants from Sportchek.

She was also further charged with stealing four bottles of alcohol from LCBO the previous day.

She was released with a future court date.

Public intoxication leads to arrest

A man had to spend some time with police after he passed out in public in Chatham.

Shortly after midnight on Saturday, the 39-year-old was found unconscious on Thames Street.

The man was arrested for public intoxication and later released when sober.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
