COVID-19 cases rise again in Midwestern Ontario

Huron Perth Public Health added 14 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday, for a total of 52 active cases. Another 430 people are self isolating. Two people are currently in hospital with COVID and six healthcare workers are battling the virus. There are outbreaks at two Long-term Care homes: Knollcrest Lodge in Perth East and Exeter Villa in South Huron.  Listowel Memorial Hospital continues outbreak protocols as well.

One of the new cases is in Stratford, three in Perth East, three in North Perth, one in South Huron, two in Morris Turnberry, one  in Huron East, one in Howick, one Goderich and one in Ashfield Colborne Wawanosh.

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health added 26 new cases for a total of 280 active cases, and thirteen hospitalizations.  Four of the new cases were in Wellington, for a total of 36 active cases, and two hospitalizations in that county. An outbreak continues at Caressant Care in Arthur.

The Grey Bruce Health Unit added just two new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday, one in Southgate and one in Blue Mountains. There are 26 active and 12 probable cases, connected with 149 high risk contacts. Three patients are in hospital with COVID.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
