75 additional COVID-19 cases, two new deaths in London-area

London-Middlesex reported 75 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday and two new deaths related to the virus.

The newest cases bring the regional case count to 2,921. Sunday's figures include two days' worth of data due to the holiday.

The latest deaths were two men, one in his 60s and one in his 80s. So far, 98 people have died from the virus in the region since the pandemic began.

There are currently 15 active institutional outbreaks in the region including at Oakcrossing Retirement Living, Extendicare and Earls Court Village, all of which were declared on Saturday.

Elsewhere, provincial health officials reported 2,005 new cases on Sunday as well as 2,005 new recoveries.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
