Traffic stop leads to charges

A 37-year-old Walpole Island man will have to answer to charges after a traffic stop in Wallaceburg.

Police located the man in the area of Wallace Street, operating an unplated ATV on the highway. The man was pulled over and arrested for driving while under suspension.

While searching the man, officers located suspected methamphetamine. According to police, the man was also found to be in possession of a firearm although he was prohibited by a court order not to possess any weapons.

The man was transported to police headquarters and charged accordingly. He was eventually released with a future court date.

Domestic offence in Blenheim

A man is facing multiple charges after a domestic incident in Blenheim.

According to police, officers responded to a domestic dispute after being contacted by the female victim. The victim said she had been assaulted by her boyfriend.

Police arrived on scene and arrested her 49-year-old boyfriend for three counts of assault.

The Blenheim man was taken to the police station and released with a future court date.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
