Solo case of COVID-19 reported at a London public school

Only one case of COVID-19 was identified at a London public school on Thursday.

The Thames Valley District School Board (TVDSB) reported a case of the virus at Sir John A. Macdonald Public School.

All schools are currently closed for the winter break.

Parents, guardians, and staff at both schools have been notified and the Middlesex-London Health Unit is working to identify close contacts of the infected individuals.

“If you are not contacted by the health unit, your child is not considered to be at risk. The health unit will only contact those staff and students who have been identified as a close contact and will advise them to stay home from school and quarantine for a period of 14 days,” the school board said in a statement.

There are currently 17 active cases within TVDSB schools. More information can be found here.
