128 additional COVID-19 cases in London-area, two new deaths

It was another day of triple-digit COVID-19 cases in London-Middlesex

The Middlesex London Health Unit reported 128 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday.

The latest cases bring the regional case count to 4,254.

There were also two additional deaths in the region reported, bringing the total number who have died from the virus in London-Middlesex to 121. The latest deaths were a woman in her 90s who was a resident of a long-term care home and a man in his 50s from the general community.

Meanwhile, 41 new recoveries were reported on Saturday. So far, 2,999 individuals in the London-area have recovered from the virus.

Southwestern Public Health, the health unit covering St. Thomas, Woodstock and Elgin and Oxford counties, reported 41 new cases on Saturday with the case count now sitting at 1,688.

Elsewhere, Ontario recorded 3,443 new COVID-19 cases, 2,915 recoveries and 40 additional deaths on Saturday. On Saturday, provincial health officials also marked the milestone of 100,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine administered.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
