Youth arrested in Walpole Island shooting

A 16-year-old from Walpole Island has been arrested in connection with a shooting on Monday afternoon.

Walpole Island Police and Lambton OPP responded to a 911 call at around 2:45 p.m. on Snye Subdivision Road.

It's alleged the suspect fired a shot inside of a residence, and struck a 15-year-old, sending them to hospital in serious condition.

The accused is facing several charges including criminal negligence causing bodily harm, careless use of a firearm, possession of a prohibited firearm, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Police continue to investigate, and said further information will be provided as it becomes available.

The suspect can't be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
