Home and Community Support Services helping those in need in Grey-Bruce during pandemic

The head of an area support agency says people have been wonderful in helping others during the pandemic.

Andy Underwood is executive director of Home and Community Support Services Grey Bruce.  The agency provides services mainly for seniors- things like Meals On Wheels and transportation services.  Underwood says many people are finding it hard to make ends meet, often having to choose between paying rent or buying food.  He says the community has stepped up to help.

"People call us out of the blue, cold call us, to see what they can do to help so Grey Bruce is very fortunate for the support that we have out there," says Underwood.

Underwood says all Home and Community Support Services Grey Bruce programs are running during the lockdown, though many are on a modified basis.  He says all appropriate precautions are taken to ensure peoples' safety.
