Break and enter in Cedar Springs

Chatham-Kent police are looking for whoever stole some supplies from inside an unoccupied house in Cedar Springs.

Police responded on Friday afternoon to the Charing Cross Road residence. Various construction materials, dry-wall and paint were stolen.

The investigation is ongoing and there are currently no suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call Constable Scott Nevills at scottn@chatham-kent.ca or 519-436-6600 extension 87326. Anonymous callers may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.

Warrant arrests 

Police in Chatham-Kent were able to nab a pair of people wanted on outstanding warrants.

It started on Friday morning when an officer on general patrol in Wallaceburg located a man on Dufferin Avenue who was known to be wanted on a warrant for break and enter as well as possession under $5,000.

The 36-year-old was arrested on the strength of the warrant, transported to the Chatham-Kent police headquarters for booking and was later released with a future court date.

Elsewhere, on Friday afternoon, an officer on general patrol in Blenheim located a man on New Scotland Line who was wanted on a warrant for failing to comply with a court order.

The 37-year-old was arrested on the strength of the warrant, transported to police headquarters for booking and eventually released with a future court date.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
