Arrest made after Dresden break-in

A 51-year-old Wallaceburg man has been arrested in connection with a recent break-in at a Dresden business.

Police said they received the call at around 2:15 a.m. Sunday, adding that through their investigation, they found a man in a vehicle and arrested him in connection with the case.

Officers said they searched the vehicle he was in and found some jewelry that was stolen from the break and enter. Police also allegedly found some fentanyl in the man's possession.

As a result, he was charged with break and enter, possession of stolen property, and drug possession.

Five arrests on outstanding warrants

Chatham-Kent police recently managed to track down five people who were wanted for a variety of offences locally.

Police said they arrested a 39-year-old Chatham man who was wanted for breaching his release conditions, charged him, and then released him pending a future court date.

A 37-year-old Chatham man and a 30-year-old Chatham man -- both of whom were wanted for failing to appear in court -- were also arrested, processed and released.

Meantime, a 41-year-old Wallaceburg woman who was wanted in connection with a surety relief warrant and a 49-year-old Zone Township man who was wanted on several outstanding warrants have also been arrested.

They were both held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
