Latest COVID-19 information released for Midwestern Ontario

The Grey Bruce Health Unit added six new cases of COVID-19 Thursday, and two people are still in hospital. There were two new cases in Owen Sound and Hanover, and one in Arran-Elderslie and Kincardine. There are 30 active cases, and one probable cases. They have 67 high risk contacts.

Huron Perth Public Health added 17 new cases of COVID-19 Thursday, and another fatality. The three most recent deaths due to COVID-19 were at Caressant Care in Listowel, where 13 people have died. An outbreak also continues at Seaforth Manor.  Eleven of today's new cases were in Huron East.

Public Health in Wellington Dufferin Guelph added 39 cases today, and twelve people are hospitalized. There was just one new case of COVID-19 confirmed in Wellington County for the third straight day. There are 82 active cases and four hospitalizations in Wellington. Outbreaks continue at Caressant Care in Arthur, and at Wellington Terrace in Fergus.  Right now, there are 31 active cases in Wellington North, 16 in Minto and five in Mapleton.

Students in Huron, Perth and Wellington Counties will continue with remote learning until further notice.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
