COVID-19 fatalities rise in Wellington Dufferin Guelph

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health has added 61 new cases of COVID-19 Friday. 16 people are in hospital, and 73 people have died due to COVID-19. That's up from 69 on Wednesday.

Narrowing in on Wellington County, there were 19 new cases, after several days of just one new case. Seventeen Wellington County residents have succumbed to the disease during the pandemic, and six people are fighting it in hospital.

An outbreak has been declared at Palmerston and District Hospital. The outbreak at the Caressant Care long term care home in Arthur continues, with the number of fatalities increasing by one to ten. One person passed away during the retirement home outbreak, which is now is over. Wellington Terrace in Fergus is still in outbreak.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
