COVID-19 claims another life in Midwestern Ontario

Huron Perth Public Health reported another fatality due to COVID-19.

The pandemic has now claimed 41 lives in the region.

Four new cases were added Tuesday and three people are in hospital. There are 74 active cases. The outbreak at Seaforth Manor Long Term Care, has now spread to the retirement home. And both Caressant Care facilities in Listowel are still battling an outbreak along with Fordwich Village in Howick.

The Grey Bruce Health Unit added  three new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday.  There are 27 active cases and two  probable cases.  Two people are in hospital.

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public health reported 21 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in the past 24 hours.

There are 362 active cases and three hospitalizations. Six of those new cases are in Wellington County, where there are 67 active cases. Five people are in hospital in Wellington. Currently there are 30 active cases in Wellington North, 16 in Minto and eight in Mapleton.

Outbreaks continue at Palmerston Hospital, Caressant Long Term Care in Arthur, and Wellington Terrace in Fergus

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
