Seven new COVID cases in Sarnia-Lambton

Sarnia-Lambton's health unit reported another relatively small increase in new COVID-19 infections Saturday morning.

Lambton Public Health added seven new cases over the past 24 hours, and 10 more resolved cases, dropping the active case-count to 46. Back on January 5, the community hit a peak of 323 active COVID cases.

The number of total cases since March sits at 1,861.

The number of active outbreaks locally, six, and COVID-related deaths, 41, are both unchanged from Friday.

Bluewater Health is still reporting five COVID-positive patients in hospital.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
