Students back in class in Huron, Perth, Wellington

More buses will be on the road Monday morning and more children will be walking on sidewalks as schools reopen to students across Huron, Perth and Wellington.

The return to in-class learning also means more safety measures being put into place.

That includes mandatory masks for students in Grades 1 to 3.

Students are also required to wear masks outside where the two metre distance can't be maintained, and that includes recess. There will also be increased enforcement to avoid students congregating before and after school.

Families are also being asked to follow the self-screening tool before students leave home to attend class.

The province has announced school openings in a staggered manner based on COVID-19 numbers in each region.

Schools in Grey Bruce had reopened back on Janury 25.
