The Municipality of Chatham-Kent officially has a new assistant fire chief.
On Monday, it was announced that Sean McRoberts accepted the position of Assistant Fire Chief with Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Services.
McRoberts first started working with the municipality in 1993 with the recreation facilities department and worked his way up to the role of a recreational facilities supervisor.
He started his firefighting career in 2001 as a volunteer firefighter with Station 9- Bothwell and was eventually hired by Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Services full time in 2009. McRoberts has also spent time working as an instructor at the Lamton College Fire School.
According to Chief Chris Case, a passion for training and for preventative health and safety is one of the many attributes McRoberts brings to his new role.
"We are delighted to welcome Chief McRoberts to the command team, he brings a significant wealth of experience and education that will serve our firefighters, and our community well," said Case. "I am pleased to see our internal talent continue to develop and take leadership roles in our municipality."
