Lower COVID-19 rates in Midwestern Ontario

The Grey Bruce Health Unit confirmed five new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday, two in Owen Sound, one in Southgate and one in West Grey. There are 17 active and six probable cases. One person is in hospital. There has been one death during the pandemic. There are no active outbreaks.

Huron Perth Public Health added five new confirmed cases of COVID-19 Wednesday, one in Stratford, three in Huron East and one in Goderich. Two people are in hospital. The number of active cases is 39. The death toll remains at 46. There are outbreaks continuing at  three nursing homes, two retirement homes and one hospital.

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public health added 19 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday.  Just one of those new cases was in Wellington County. There are 25 active cases in Wellington, and one hospitalization.

The death toll sits at 26.  Outbreak protocols continue to be followed at Caressant Care nursing homes in Arthur and Fergus, and at Palmerston Hospital.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
