COVID-19 Outbreaks continue in Midwestern Ontario

COVID-19 outbreaks continue at a number of facilities in Midwestern Ontario.

Huron Perth Public Health reported there have been 64 illnesses at Seaforth Manor Nursing Home. There have been two illnesses in the outbreak at Hillside Manor long term care in Perth East.

The Huron Perth Public Health website showed the outbreak at the North Perth Caressant Care Retirement Home has sickened 42 people, while there have been twelve illnesses at the Seaforth Manor Retirement home. Eight people were sickened at St. Marys Hospital. And one client is ill at the Relouw Childcare center in Exeter.

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health reported there have been 118 COVID-19 illnesses in the ongoing outbreak at the Caressant Care nursing home in Arthur, and 16 fatalities. One staff member tested positive in the outbreak at Caressant Care in Fergus. Eleven people were sickened in the outbreak at Palmerston Hospital, and four people died.

There are no outbreaks in Grey Bruce, according to the public health unit website.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
