New COVID-19 cases reported in Midwestern Ontario by public health

Huron Perth Public Health  has added another fatality due to COVID-19. The pandemic has claimed 48 lives in the region, according to the Huron Perth Public Health website. Three new cases were added Friday, but two were referred to the patient's home health unit.  The website reported there were 36 active cases and one hospitalization, along with six outbreaks.

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health also added another COVID-19 fatality in Wellington County Friday, at the Caressant Care Nursing home in Arthur. There have been 27 fatalities in Wellington since the pandemic began. Of the 28 new cases added by the health department, just one was in Wellington County Friday, where one person was reported to be in hospital.

The Grey Bruce health Unit added two new cases of COVID-19 in past 24 hours in Owen Sound and Arran-Elderslie .Three are 18 active cases and four active probable cases. One person is hospitalized. There has been one fatality due to the pandemic.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
