Three new COVID-19 fatalities in Wellington County

On Thursday, Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health reported three additional fatalities in the past day related to COVID-19, all in Wellington County.

Public health reported two new cases were added in Wellington County Thursday, for a total of 20 active cases. No one is in hospital in Wellington.

There are two active cases in Minto, two in Mapleton and one in Wellington North, according to public health.

Across Wellington Dufferin Guelph, public health added 17 new cases , and reported 141 active cases.  Ten people are hospitalized.

Outbreaks continue at the Caressant Care long term care homes in Arthur and Fergus, as well as Palmerston Hospital.  There are nine outbreaks at seniors facilities in Guelph.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
