No injuries reported after Spark Drive fire

Fire crews in Chatham-Kent responded to a basement fire at a home on Spark Drive around 7 p.m. Saturday.

When they arrived, they found heavy smoke coming from the home. Officials said four children and two adults were able to escape safely and without injury.

After a quick attack, crews got the fire under control and were able to put it out. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Chatham-Kent Police Service. The damage is estimated to be about $100,000.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
