Positive COVID-19 case at Wallaceburg public school

A group of students from A.A. Wright Public School in Wallaceburg will be learning from home for the next little while after a staff member at the school tested positive for COVID-19.

The Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit notified the school board about the case on Tuesday, February 23, 2021.

The school is still open and all of the buses that service the school are running as normal.

School board officials said public health officials are contacting any individuals who may have been in potential contact with the virus, adding that if you have not been contacted you were not a close contact with the confirmed case.

Wallaceburg District Secondary School and McNaughton Avenue Public School in Chatham also each have one positive COVID-19 case -- both of those cases are students.
