3,500 appointment bookings for vaccine in Huron, Perth

It didn't take long for COVID-19 vaccination appointments to fill up in Huron and Perth.

Bookings for those 80-plus and Indigenous adults 55 and older opened up Wednesday. As of noon Thursday, all of the appointments available were booked.

Huron Perth Public Health booked 3,500 appointments over 18 hours, and officials say the volume of requests was expected.

The booking system will reopen March 5 at 9 a.m. once more clinic dates are added.

Public health officials are reminding people not to call their primary care provider or pharmacy for vaccine appointments as all bookings are being made through public health.
