COVID-19 closes London school

Students at a London elementary school won't be returning to in-person learning following the Easter long weekend due to COVID-19 concerns.

Holy Rosary Catholic Elementary School will be closed from April 6-9.

According to the London District Catholic School Board (LCDSB) half of the students and two-thirds of staff at the school are self-isolating due to three positive COVID cases.

"Combined with the ongoing teacher and educational assistant shortage, the London District Catholic School Board has made the difficult decision to temporarily close Holy Rosary Catholic Elementary School in London for four days due to operational concerns," the school board said in a release.

The school, which has less than 200 students, is set to reopen after the Spring Break.

Students will continue their learning remotely during the temporary closure.
