Teen charged with assault

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with two counts of assault after he allegedly assaulted two family members in Chatham.

Police said they made the arrest after they were called to respond to a family dispute at a local residence Tuesday morning.

The teen was later released with a future court date.

Man allegedly threw glass at victim

A 29-year-old Ridgetown man has been arrested and charged with mischief and assault in connection with a disturbance Tuesday night.

Police said their investigation showed that the man allegedly damaged a door to a residence in Ridgetown and also damaged the victim's car.

The man is also accused of throwing a broken piece of glass at the victim before leaving the scene.

Police said they were able to find the man a short distance from the home and arrested him.

The accused was charged with mischief, assault with a weapon, and failing to comply with his release conditions. He was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Power tools, radio stolen from apartment under construction

Chatham-Kent police are investigating after someone broke into an apartment under construction on King Street West in Chatham and took off with some tools.

Officers said it's believed the break-in took place sometime between 4 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Whoever broke in, stole a DeWalt orbital sander cordless telescope, a Milwaukee tool case and batteries, and a DeWalt radio.
