Damage estimated at $40K after garage fire

The damages are coming in at around $40,000 after a fire broke out in a garage on Grande River Line in Chatham Tuesday evening.

Chatham-Kent fire officials said firefighters from Stations #1 and #2 were called to the scene at around 7:50 p.m. Tuesday, adding that the fire was extinguished quickly and contained to the attached garage.

Everyone inside the home at the time was able to get out quickly and no injuries were reported.

The cause is going down as "undetermined."
