New COVID-19 cases confirmed in Midwestern Ontario

The Grey Bruce health Unit added 32 new cases of COVID-19 Friday, There are 169 active cases, including 22 variants of concern. One case was transferred to another health unit. One resident is hospitalized in Grey and Bruce due to COVID-19 and three residents are hospitalized outside Grey Bruce due to COVID-19. There are 661 active high-risk contacts. This is day two of a 48 hour stay at home order issued by the local Medical Officer of Health, on top the provincial order.

Huron Perth Public Health reported just two new cases of COVID-19 Friday, down from 23 new cases added Thursday.  There are 54 active cases and one person is in hospital. There have been 43 variants of concern identified in the region.

However, in Wellington County, public health officials added 23 new cases, for a total of 119 active cases in Wellington. Across the Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health jurisdiction, five people are hospitalized, and seven are in the ICU. There are 634 active cases for the whole region. after 64 were added Friday
