New COVID cases up eight, active infections down five

After an uptick in new COVID-19 cases Thursday, Lambton Public Health reported just eight new infections Friday.

The health unit said the total case count since the pandemic began in March 2020 has reached 3,098. Cases considered resolved increased by 13 to 2,930, lowering the active case count by five to 114.

There's one active outbreak at an unnamed workplace, unchanged in the last 24 hours.

Bluewater Health had seven COVID-positive patients in hospital, down two.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
