Residents throughout southwestern Ontario will be waking up to a wintry scene on Wednesday.
Environment Canada issued a weather advisory Tuesday afternoon that stretched across the entire region, from Oxford County, through Middlesex County, Elgin County, Chatham-Kent, and into Essex County.
Forecasters said anywhere from five to ten centimetres of snow will fall, beginning Tuesday night and ending sometime Wednesday morning.
"This Winter Weather Travel Advisory is due to a low pressure system that is forecast to track south of the region tonight and Wednesday," the advisory said. "Due to the uncertain track of the weather system and the warm ground temperatures, total snowfall amounts expected could change. Please continue to monitor the forecasts for future updates."
It's not likely that the snow will stick around long. With the temperature expected to return to above the freezing mark by Wednesday afternoon, much of the accumulated snow will melt in fairly short order.
