Midwestern Ontario COVID-19 situation varies depending on where you live

Huron Perth Public Health added two new cases of COVOD-19 Friday, and the number of variants of concern identified in the region is up to 72.  The new cases were in North Perth and Bluewater. There are 30 active cases. One person is in hospital.

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health reported another 63 new cases of the virus today, 16 of them in Wellington County, where there are 94 active cases. 17 people are in hospital and six people are in the ICU.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
