UPDATE: Police reopen eastbound 401 near Chatham

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Chatham-Kent have reopened a stretch of the eastbound 401 following a serious crash.

Police say they responded to the collision between Queens Line and Bloomfield Road around 5 p.m. Monday.

The highway was closed for several hours while crews cleared the scene, but police reopened the area at around 9:30 p.m. Monday.

Early reports indicate multiple transport trucks were involved in the collision.

No other details on injuries have been provided.
