Just two new cases of COVID-19 in Midwestern Ontario Tuesday

Some encouraging COVID-19 updates from health officials in Midwestern Ontario Tuesday.

Huron Perth Public Health reported no new cases of the Novel Coronavirus. There are 27 active cases of COVID-19 including seven variants. One person is in hospital. 102 people are in self-isolation.

Public health officials in Wellington County also added no new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday. There are 84 active cases in Wellington.

The Grey Bruce Health Unit added just two new cases Tuesday. There are 77 active cases, including 25 variants.  Five residents are hospitalized with the virus. 336 people are considered active high risk contacts.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
