Public Health officials report new COVID-19 cases in Midwestern Ontario Friday

The Grey Bruce Health Unit added four new cases of COVID-19 to the confirmed list Friday. Two in Owen Sound, one in South Bruce and one in Blue mountains.  There are 75 active cases, and 32 active variants. Two residents remain in hospital due to the virus.

Huron Perth Public Health added three new cases of COVID-19 Friday, two in Goderich and one in Howick . There are 31 active cases and 20 variants of concern. One person remains in hospital.

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health added 51 new cases , and reported 477 active cases.  There were 15 new cases in Wellington, where 103 cases are active.  There are five active cases in Minto, two in Mapleton and 14 in Wellington North.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
