Bluewater Health reports one more COVID-related death

Bluewater Health is reporting another COVID-19 related death.

Since the start of the pandemic, there's been 47 deaths at the hospital linked to the virus.

Communications Chief Julia Oosterman said the latest death was a Lambton area man in his 60s.

Oosterman said there are 10 COVID-positive patients at the hospital, two from outside Lambton County. Three patients are in intensive care and two are on ventilators.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in Sarnia-Lambton dropped below 70 Thursday.

Lambton Public Health reported just three new confirmed cases, up to 3,430 since March 2020. The number of cases considered resolved increased by eight to 3,306, lowering the active caseload by five to 66.

There are three institutional and workplace outbreaks, down one in the last 24 hours.
