Testing continues to uncover new positive COVID-19 cases in Midwestern Ontario

The Grey Bruce Health Unit just released todays COVID-19 situation report. There were three new cases of COVID-19 Friday, two in Southgate and one in South Bruce Peninsula. There are 50 active cases, 41 of them are variants. Two residents with COVID-19 are hospitalized in Grey Bruce due to COVID-19.

Huron Perth Public Health added eleven new cases of COVID-19 Friday. There were no new fatalities.  There are 72 active cases, including 33 variants.   A retirement home outbreak has been declared at Goderich Place after one resident and one staff member tested positive.

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health added 25 new cases Friday, and reported 253 active cases. Seven people are in acute care in hospital and six in the ICU. In Wellington County there were eight new cases added, and there are 57 active cases including six in Mapleton and eight in Wellington north.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
