Active COVID case count continues downward trend

Sarnia-Lambton's COVID-19 caseload has surpassed 3,500.

Lambton Public Health reported four new confirmed cases Thursday, for a total of 3,503 since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

The number of infections considered resolved increased by eight, to 3,411, lowering the active case count by four to 31.

Cases involving variants of concern have risen to 565 since March 3.

The health unit said currently there are no active outbreaks.

Bluewater Health had three COVID-positive patients in hospital, up one from Wednesday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
