Ten new COVID-19 cases in Midwestern Ontario

The number of new COVID-19 cases in Midwestern Ontario is continuing to decline.

Huron Perth Public Health added four new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday. There are 44 active cases which includes 25 variants of concern. Two people are currently hospitalized with the virus.

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health added 29 new cases, four of them in Wellington. There are 28 active cases in Wellington. Across Wellington Dufferin Guelph, eight people are in hospital and another six are in the ICU.

The Grey Bruce Health Unit added just two new cases of COVID-19 again Wednesday, in Huron Kinloss, and The Blue Mountains. There are twelve active cases in Grey Bruce, and nine of them are variants. In all there are 37 active high-risk contacts, and one resident is in hospital fighting the virus.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
